Kazi Islam, from Bangladesh will come to MLOVE ConFestival June 23-25. He will talk about the truly life changing success Grameenphone had through mobile. And: Two MLOVE Speakers just voted most Influential Women in Technology.
Berlin, 05-06-2010 – MLOVE (www.mlove.com) is proud to announce the participation of Mr. Kazi Islam the CEO of Grameenphone IT Ltd. as keynote speaker for the MLOVE ConFestival. Grameenphone IT provides managed services to the largest mobile operator Grameenphone in Bangladesh. Grameenphone was founded by Mohammad Yunus, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 for the micro credit concept of the Grameen Bank. Now, the Village Phone project of Grameenphone has brought cell-phone ownership to 260,000 rural poor in over 50,000 villages since the beginning of the project in March 1997.
This is one of the inspiring examples of how mobile will change our future – the main theme for the MLOVE Confestival that will take place June 23-25 in a castle south of Berlin.
Just recently two of the San Francisco based speakers at MLOVE have been voted “most influential women in technology” by FastCompany Magazine: Shaherose Charania the CEO of Women 2.0, an organization for women-led start-ups in Silicon Valley. Shaherose has led its growth to include tens of thousands of participants, hosting monthly educational and networking workshops engaging entrepreneurs and investors from top Venture Capital firms and Angel circles.
Leila Chirayath Janah is the CEO of Samasource and a TEDx Silicon Valley speaker. Her company enables marginalized people to receive life-changing work opportunities via the Internet. The core of this concept is microwork – little bits of labor that can be performed anytime and anywhere that add up to a real livelihood for them.
International speakers from many different companies and institutions will make the two and a half day event a remarkable experience. They include: Beverly W. Jackson, Senior Marketing Manager of the GRAMMY Awards; Nick E. Heller, in charge of Business Development for Google’s European future incubation labs and Richard D. Titus, CEO of Associated Northcliffe Digital (part of the Daily Mail) – UK’s leading digital publisher of premium- content consumer websites. Altogether, MLOVE invited 30+ global mobile thought leaders from the likes of BMW, Burda, Flirtomatic, 1Goal, this fluid world and AutoDesk.
