The organizational team of the first MLOVE Confestival 2010 expresses a sincerely deep gratitude for the speakers, participants, sponsors, supporting partners and media partners that made this experience possible.
While the whole production team is taking more days to clean up, collect feedback and take a toll of what just happened – one thing is certain:
There is overwhelmingly positive feedback and thankfulness that is expressed by all who have been participating. We are sure that with a new format like the MLOVE Confestival we can add value to shaping the mobile industry, creating positive change and build a tribe of passionate innovators that are eager to make the world a better place.
All of these words might mean nothing or just boilerplate to readers that have not been fortunate to be on location. For all that shared the past days in the MLOVE castle we are convinced that these words might be just a mere understatement.

These Days it is hard to impress anybody
One hundred and fifty people stand with their mobile phones pointing skywards, experiencing a mobile world first at MLOVE Confestival 2010.
One of the highlights of the MLOVE Confestival, an attempt at evolving the mobile and tech conference, is a 1,500 square meter (13,500 sq ft) digital projection along the length of the 19th castle in Germany, which is the venue for MLOVE. Moreover this enormous display was interacted with via mobile phones by the conferences international delegates, just by holding their handsets up to the projection; one of the biggest building projections ever produced.
These days it’s pretty hard to inspire or amaze anyone. Photo-realistic computer graphics pervade everyone’s daily lives, five year old children wave their parents iPhone as they race a sports car and augmented reality apps splatter icons across a city through the lens of their Android handset. So the MLOVE team are happy that at this inaugural Confestival these experienced technologists and business leaders could still be wowed, in this case not just by very well received agenda, but a world first combining the real world, mobile handsets and some brilliant creative thinking.
As the entire castle appeared to move and re-arrange itself during the evening events at MLOVE, “woops” and wolf whistles filled the air. Apparently people can still be impressed and inspired.
“To really be engage and amaze people they need to interact. The giant projection is part of that process of inspiration, hopefully reminding people why they mobile to start with and the power which is enables.” Roman Beranek, Director of Projektil, whose company specialises in giant interactive building animations. “This is one of the biggest ever staged and the mobile interaction is a world first” he said.
With an diverse range of speakers spanning a bevy of inspirational subjects, MLOVE is much more than a conference about the mobile industry. “The goals of the MLOVE Confestival were evolved collectively by the MLOVE founding team over the last 18 months and by those who attended MLOVE camps” says Harald Neidhardt who founded MLOVE in 2008.
