MLOVE Japan announced to continue a mission to shape the Future of Mobile

Berlin, July 04 2011 MLOVE ConFestival 2011 brought together a engaging crowd of international people in an 18th century castle south of Berlin. With three days of amazing talks, controversial discussions, fascinating workshops the 250+ participants summed up the MLOVE ConFestival with one major Zeitgeist theme: “The positive future of society depends on the balance between humanity, technology and commerce.”

“MLOVE shows its potential as a open innovation format where passionate participants become family to work even closer in sharing and learning during three intense days and nights. The ideas continue to grow in the MLOVE community beyond the castle walls that act as a catalyst to spark positive change,” says Harald Neidhardt, MLOVE founder and curator of the MLOVE ConFestival.

MLOVE ConFestival covered the areas of education, health, entertainment, communication and even Singularity. A Teen Camp gave the opportunity to group of European teenagers to collaborate, ideate and present their vision of the future on stage to a moved audience of a grown-up mobile avantgarde.

Exemplary for a wide range of inspiring talks where:

Thomas Goetz, Executive Editor of Wired Magazine, who pointed out how important the feedback loop is. Katsutoshi Kitamura introduced the award winning augmented reality game iButterfly plus with a special MLOVE edition – for first time outside of Japan.

Grammy Award winning Musician Chamillionaire showed the audience that the most important thing is to put the fans in the center of all activities. Peter Hale, from GBH – the London based number one creative agency, shared some of the amazing design approaches including the branding of the commercial space ship by Virgin Galactic.

Aape Pohjavirta from Ympyra presented a first-hand study from Mexico on how mobile phones can revolutionize the way children learn. United Nations Foundations own Adele Waugaman showed examples and a research study of how mobile helps in emergency relief and in mHealth for people and nations in need.

Japan was a major theme for the MLOVE ConFestival 2011. The group included Kei Shimada from Infinita, Takeshi Mizukawa from Dentsu and Takashi Kudo from Team-Lab / Onitsuka Tiger. MLOVE announced its intend the to collaborate with the speakers and organize an MLOVE ConFestival Japan.

Bernd Kolb gave a passionate wake-up call to save the planet by sharing data of sustainability and how to collaborate in the Club of Marrakesh. Yuri van Geest, Trend 8, painted a futuristic and debatable picture of singularity that can have its dark side.

Additional participating speakers and companies included NOKIA, Google, Alcatel Lucent, Vodafone, Ogilvy and the GRAMMY® Awards.

MLOVE also gave the opportunity to start-ups to pitch their ideas to renowned jury members from Google, Accenture, VC JoltTech, eVenture Capital and Techcrunch. The winning idea also resonated with the overall theme of balancing life and tech by making information access easier to people. Berlin based bookletmobile does what it’s called: it brings booklets to mobile devices.

Creativity really took off in the MLOVE Future Cubes: a highly interactive ideation format. 10 future cubes with the themes included themes from mobile advertising to sustainability. The results where remarkable and some have the potential to be included in future products or services and to be the next big thing.

“Covering the spirit and nature of MLOVE in a blog post is virtually impossible,” concluded Ralf Rottmann, an MLOVE participant – but he tries to describe his personal experience here (http://www.24100.net/2011/07/mlove2011/) with a blog post called “MLOVE – I love you”.
